Title: The Flowers Do Fade Author: mercury_rose Rating: PG-13 Summary: At Marlene McKinnon's funeral, Sirius reflects on glory, war, and the woman he might have loved. One-shot. Word count: 2,918
Lovely. I appreciate fans who pair Sirius with plausible mates, and you handled this well. First person POV is tricky with Sirius because he is so male, but nothing in this read other than masculine (and appropriately sensitive in the right proportion and places).
I wonder, does your Marlene possess a special talent as a witch, since you pointed out her eyes changing color when feeling certain emotions for Sirius?
I found this from sirius_centric. Thought it nice to tell you.
Thank you so much! Getting Sirius's voice was something I really tried hard to do here, so I'm glad you thought it fit!
In regards to Marlene, I didn't intend it that way (I have a friend whose eyes darken when she's mad, which was my inspiration for that particular trait of Marlene's) but I definitely see what you were thinking.
Getting Sirius's characterization right was really something I worked hard on here, so I'm so glad that you appreciated it! Thank you so much for the review.
