Well, the zoo would probably not work because it's going to be a hundred degrees, and Six Flags is really, really expensive, and none of us ice skate :) But thanks! Just trying to get an idea of something to do when we're there this weekend that will be fun but not overly pricey.
One Fountain Place in Dallas can be fun - they have a grid of fountains in their courtyard that all fire at random intervals, and every time I've been there, there has always been a crowd of kids playing in the water.
Also, every first Saturday of each month, the Nasher Sculpture Center has free admission, and childrens' programs. You might want to take the kid there next month.
