So we're in Tucumcari, NM. It is cold, windy, and rainy. Luckily that got going as we were stopping for the day. Rain in the desert smells amazing, though. Gabe has been great, especially considering this has been a long day, almost 700 miles. We considered stopping in Amarillo, but that was at 6 pm, and pushing on for two hours made sense,

Man, that's a long day. But I'm glad to hear it went well! Hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly too.

Every time I head across I-40 (a couple of times a year usually) we end up sleeping in Amarillo, grabbing coffee and pastries there, and then getting a proper lunch in Albuquerque which lasts us until Phoenix. nom.
