The door waited for several moments, as if no one was inside at all. This was only a feigned illusion, and those that really looked for (or at least, could look for) him, would know to wait. Patience was a virtue, and he wished to hold that virtue tight. There was one more pause, and then footsteps.

Heals. It was easy to hear against the marble floor, instead of carpet. Thin needle heals that clicked every time they took a step. Click click click click. The door shifted, unlocked once, twice, three times, and then opened a peak ( ... )

"If I was any other fool in this city, I might be far more surprised that you recall my name." She briskly stated, taking the seat with a single moment's hesitation, sweeping a glance cautiously over the chair. "Then, I suppose I'm more surprised that knocking worked before the passcode...I thought you, who sent an untraceable mail, would want to be a bit more.......cautious."

Although, in her mind, she was calling it a slight case of paranoia.

Her seat gently rested on the chair, after she brushed it off once with her hands. Removing her gloves and setting them into a pocket on the left of her now damp jacket, she lifted her gaze to the Mayor.

His sharp appearance caused even the normally stoic Larxene to narrow her eyes in calculation. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the tile in his hand. "The red dragon......such a prominent piece on both the Mahjong table...and such a bold figure in life."

"The passcode was actually for the elevator..." he stated, very empty towards the comment as he found the other red dragon tile, and set it to the completed pile to his right. Once again, eyes turned away, and continued at his game. "The fact that you took the stairs is a bit different, since that regularly is never used..." again another two tiles were taken away, and his eyes drew up. "Once my secretary has let you through, you are already in my office. To make another barrier inside seems frivolous ( ... )

Larxene paused. "So...you want for me to work for the Red Dragon...the most powerful of the dragon, the one that most wants to stay hidden, for, if it is not, it's such a desireable target..." Smirking slighty she added "Of course...such a piece of power wouldn't want to be taken before it's lower pawns."

Pausing to consider, she looks down at her file again. "Still, I'm left wondering....even despite my record, you'd have much reason to be wary of me. After all, you wouldn't want a betrayer in your midst....just meeting me is taking a risk....so...what'll be the..Catch 22, oh great wyrm?"

At the question presented, the mayor drew up the file. Yes. She had stated her own betrayal to this organization. To the man who, now below him as a member, worked for him as well. He skimmed over that evidence, and then, took the page in his hand, curled it into a ball, and chucked it quite nicely into the trash bin.

"Why. I couldn't think of anyone more perfect than someone cold hearted, someone you cannot trust 100%." He moved back to his relaxed position forward, his chin upon folded hands. "It makes for an almost interesting relationship. Watching another's back for daggers keeps interest up, keeps eyes open. then of course..." a folded hand rose mid sentence, twirling on air, "having someone who despises someone on the board, means I have a greater ally." A smirk came to play.

"So. Wary or not, I would feel fully confident in knowing you would have my life, in your hands." He leaned back again, smirking softly. "The Catch 22? I don't really have a better medical plan for you... sorry."
