I read "The Wasteland," which terrified me so much the first time I attempted it that I just threw it and wondered if I'd ever be able to finish it. It wasn't even that daunting this time.
Still, the decided soullessness && the crashes I could hear in the background, the piles of corpses I saw at the back of every sentence shook me in fear.
