(I am interested in your feelings about punctuality because I am pretty much always punctual--which I think comes from growing up relatively far away from school and having to commute--and I don't like it when people are late. I mentioned the 30 minutes figure as my leeway for a reason - my family is quite punctual, but a lot of our friends go by Israeli Mean Time, which is half an hour later than the time zone that mere mortals use. :P You learn to plan your social gatherings around it.

Yeah, I have some friends who are congenitally late...but I have not learned to like it!

I aim to be on time, but don't give myself or anyone else a hard time about anything up to about 10 minutes. After that I want to hear good excuses.

I think 10 minutes is within the realm of acceptability. My main problem is when it's something with a set time, and being up to 10 minutes late for a dinner reservation, say, is usually ok.
