As you know, I already read 'em, loved 'em, and commented the heck out of 'em. But! *there's always a big "but"* I wanted to talk about the choice of "Crush" for your Spaiku opus. I've been on sites where they talk about "worst Spuffy moments" or some variation thereon. Lots of people say the attempted rape was the worst, some say Buffy beating up Spike in the alley, some say Buffy shining Spike on after the night he comforted her, etc. Nobody ever mentions this episode (except me). For me it's the worst because Spike is so out of his depth, so willing to dump his essential Spikeness, and they seem to be on different planets. The whole scene in the car is just agonizing! I can barely watch. It's a train wreck. Which, of course, means it's incredibly funny. But I can't stop squirming, and I have to cover my eyes. Am I really the only one?

Oh! I almost forgot! I was reading the shooting script for "Smashed" on the Buffyworld site one day, and look at this little scene (set right before he calls her from the pay phone) that they deleted
