I remember now why I never donate blood (well, besides the fact they rejected me the last two times I tried for low iron); it's not a fun experience. First of all, I apparently have very deep veins. This means it took 3 people 4 or 5 (I was really trying not to pay close attention) needle sticks plus lots of maneuvering to find the damn vein.

As for needles, I have deep veins, too. I can't count the times I had a needle into my arms, given my past sickness. I still do regular checks, but luckily the paramedics who do the job seem to have improved their skills with time and bruises and multiple sticks are nothing more than a bad memory.
