I am at my mother's house, and one of her cats just brought in a chipmunk. And it WASN'T dead! So, now there is a chipmunk running around the house with two cats chasing it as I try to put a garbage can over it to rescue it. (It seems to be more afraid of me than the cats. Stupid chipmunk.) I've lost it for now, which is why I'm taking a break ( Read more... )

Your cat reminds me of my Mother In law's dog. She always is catching squirrel's....

My mother's one cat catches anything and everything. Fortunately I managed to catch the chipmunk and dump it outside. Not that the cat won't try to get it again (or get another beastie).

Oh dear is right! I did manage to catch the chipmunk and dump it back outside. (Complete with a little squeal that made my mother's neighbor look at me funny. *grin*) I think all survived mostly intact (although the chipmunk's tail looked a little funny); however, I may have used one of my mother's baking sheets as transport and don't know if it should ever be used again for food. (Although I did wash it with soap and really hot water and bleached the heck out of it. If I'd been smart, I would have put foil or something on top of the cookie tray first. Apparently my brain wasn't working too well.)

Oh, and to make it even more amusing, I was watching the scary show Friday the 13th the series (about devil cursed antiques and killing and the like) when my mother's all black cat came in with the squirming beastie in his mouth. I may have shrieked and jumped a bit! *grin*

And I'm so sorry to hear about your ncis_awards kerfluffle. I'm, obviously, totally on your side on the matter.

I'm glad you managed to get it outside mostly intact.

As for the baking sheet, I should have thought after all that it should be okay, but I can see your concern. I'm not surprised it wasn't, you were trying to keep it and the cats apart.

Thank you for that. It wasn't an enjoyable few days *sighs* At least it seems all to have settled down again
