Day 2 - Book ramblings

Sep 10, 2013 21:57

So as some of you are aware, I don't tend to sleep much. Which means I tend to read a lot. In the last couple of weeks (maybe week and a half?) I've read The Memory Collector by Meg Gardiner, Phantom Evil and The Killing Edge by Heather Graham, Bones Are Forever by Kathy Reichs, and Hide by Lisa Gardner. All were reasonably interesting and ( Read more... )

I meant to start something by Patricia Briggs soon, but I didn't know where to start or what to pick. So thanks for this.
IT'S HELPFUL! :D

I kinda started funny with them. I read Frost Burned first (or so I thought), which is the new Mercy Thompson one. I liked it enough, that I went back to read the others (I still haven't read the first one) only to find that at some point in my life I'd read one of the others before and hadn't remembered it. There is definitely continuity in the books, though, so I'd recommend reading them in order if you can, even if I didn't.

Theoretically, I'd also recommend reading the Alpha and Omega books first, even though they were written later, because they are set in the world before the Mercy Thompson books. And I think I might have liked them more if I hadn't already realized how some of the story lines were going to turn out. (Although, as I said, I didn't like them as much, so there is a risk of not caring as much because you don't know the characters yet, and the basic love story plot isn't the greatest, imo.)

If you do end up reading them, I'd be interested in what you think. :D

*lol* That's kinda funny... that's how I watched Farscape. I remember watching a Season 1 ep, and going "wow, this is all SO predictable. IDK why everyone loves this episode so much..." and then it hit me, and I realized that I had watched this ep ages ago. *LOL*

mmmh, okay. I'll keep that in mind. My next book is going to be "Unholy Ghosts" by ... Stacia Keane? (I forgot the name, something like that *lol* )
So it would take a little while before I'd start the Patricia Briggs series.
But I'll consider reading the Alpha/Omega series first :D

Sure thing, I'll let you know :D
