It's a hard subject yo. :) I make a lot of mistakes, but I talk to native speakers a lot so some things are starting to feel more natural without thinking too much about them. I hope the link helps you.
ah, thanks! actually it helped a lot. i already had the feeling that koto was like "(and) stuff to with that person/thing" (since i was taught it means "fact/event/experience", so like... "i like (all the) facts about/events/experiences with that person" -> "i like that person" isn't so far a stretch... i'll learn it eventually but it's used so often, it's annoying no one teaches it early on...
