Would the guinea pig like hay as bedding? You might be able to find someone who sells it by the bale, pretty inexpensively.

that's a thought... I wonder if that's a good bedding then? I use the recycled paper bedding (the most pricey but healthiest also) . the last time we got some finely shredded pine to go underneath.
