I decided to skip Illustration Friday this week, even though the theme is a good one: "pretend". Really, doing art for anything other than something that inspires me, and is for me, causes me a lot of stress. I have always known that I am no good at drawing things I can't see. I thought I could overcome it, but if I do, it will take more time than ( Read more... )

Hey, me too exactly :) I really love photography with all my heart but I've decided that for now at least I'm only going to do it for my own pleasure. And that's working out well so far. The only thing I can do commercially is design and I do it since I need to support myself.

I've missed you soooo much.

I feel sad for you about Joey but it sounds like you are continuing to let him know that you love him and you are here if he needs.
That's great.

Love !

How has etsy been for you so far? You need other places to cross promote it - it really really helps!

Not so good, but I don't do much to promote myself either. I think when I am ready, and I have a "final product" as an artist I will put my energy into selling. Or, I could be kidding myself about every getting to that point!

I don't do near as much as I "should" - or even as much as most other people do.

At this point, I post on Flickr, my art journal (and I try to post at least once a week), my LJ posts and Flickr posts automatically post to my Facebook (which is so handy), and I try to spam my listings on LJ and Flickr communities. Thats about it - I belong to several ning comms, but never do anything with them - which is a shame.

I just started the nibblefest thing - which opens me up to a whole new market on Ebay, which is doing surprisingly well for me right now!

If you use Flickr for your posts, then all three steps could be bound in one for you. A little goes a long way.

I think you are incredibly talented - and just know that your work would sell well, if only enough people knew about them!
