wake-up call

Jan 03, 2009 08:37

The guy at the grocery store rung up my collards as water chestnuts for some reason and I said nothing. I paid 8$ instead of 2$ for collard greens. I thought about saying something but the words did not come out. Why? I've got to change my mousy ways.

I've done the exact same thing! Well, not collards as water chestnuts, but let something be charged as more and then berated myself all the way back to the car.

Not so much now... now I do say something.

Its hard to do it in the moment. Next time, you can take a minute or two and sit down after the check out is done. Use this time to collect yourself, then head over to customer service and show them the receipt and the greens. They will correct it for you, no problem.

In fact, you can take them and the receipt back TODAY if you want to, and have it corrected.

Often times, for me, I just need some space to process what happened, and what I need to do next. Dealing with things in the moment is next to impossible. (which is probably why Im always a "worst case scenario" person, it allows me to figure out how I'd respond ahead of time)

I agree with deltatau. You can easily take your receipt and collard greens to the customer service desk for a refund.
