On the other hand, kids (and some grown-ups, like me!) love seeing cats around. And love it if they bend over and beckon to the cat, and the cat comes and rubs between their legs. My neighbor has about four cats, and they come and sit on my step and sun themselves. I love that!
I do love songbirds too, and I know cats do kill songbirds, but I still like having cats wandering around.

I have a cat attack story. The cute little white fluffy bundle of a cat with the sun coloured halo that is my icon is named Arden. She is the most "catlike" of all our cats (e.g. dogs have owners, cats have staff) but she keeps to herself and does not interact with people she doesn't know or like. A couple of weeks ago we had some friends over. One of our friends, a Mary Jo, took it upon herself to pick Arden up with both of her hands. Instantly, Arden, went from being tranquil to a hell cat, digging her nails into Mary Jo's legs and scratching her arms. In a flash it was over and Arden was gone and Mary Jo was left standing there bleeding in a couple of spots. So, I guess, the moral of the story is that cats are usually nice and mellow unless you do something really dumb. :)
Yep, the cat's probably doing all that stuff. And anyone who judges YOU by the actions of YOUR CAT is having trouble dealing with their own shit, and that's their responsibility. There's a neighborhood cat who poops in our garden and my reaction is, "I wish that cat wouldn't poop in our garden." But I would feel horrible if someone for one second felt bad just because I was slightly annoyed by their cat. Any time that I spend feeling malicious toward another person is time that's been totally wasted.
That's an interesting perspective - good to hear from the "other side." I think you are the exception, my friend, as most would vent hostility I imagine. Still, sorry you have to deal with cat poo!

Sharing these thoughts is all I got :) I don't have any opinions on "important" matters. I'll have to work on that.

Yeah, unfriendly cats can leave some marks! Luckily our outside cat is really nice, but that does make me think about strangers picking him up.
