I don't even know where the times goes, but apparently, the summer is almost over and I haven't said much of anything fannish to anyone. I saw there was some meme going about posting every day, or something like that. Truthfully, I'd like to get back to posting once a month.
Some points of interest about my life:

I've also entered my first 10K! I finally decided I needed to experience a race before I really said that I don't do races.*g* So, we'll see. Sadly, we are heading into a heat wave, and I, like you, am no good at running in high temperatures and high humidity. (I am, of course, a wimp compared with you in terms of distance, though!)
I also just bought a bike. I am in love with biking. And even though it uses different muscles, it has improved my running. I would be more likely to do a triathlon than anything else, I think. Although, while I love swimming, I'm not keen on lake swimming and all the ones round here include that. Hmm.
Good to see you post!

It's been a long time since we've been in the same fandom. I do hope you end up writing in it. I hope I end up writing in it.
A 10k! That's excellent! You have to start somewhere. I actually started there, too.
The humidity is what kills me. I can tolerate the heat well enough, but I can't deal with humidity.
What kind of bike did you get? I'm soliciting opinions on bikes right now. I might get one for my birthday. I do plan to rent one very soon so that I can see if I like it. Same goes for swimming lessons.
If you wanted to travel you could find a tri that had a pool swim. I think many of the sprint distance ones have pool swims rather than open water. I might look for one of those first.

Someone at a bike shop, though, said that these days all bikes are "good", it's just a matter of find the right fit for you. Definitely go to a good bike shop where they take the time to fit you to the bike--not just the frame, but the handlebars and the seat, etc.
I really, really, really like the biking. Although I still feel best after a good run. *g*

I agree about running. I don't think I'd ever stop that, but I do want to expand my repertoire so to speak.

I know what you mean about feeling isolated from fandom as it is now. I keep thinking about walking away from it completely, but then I end up writing a little more. I still love the characters, even if fandom itself is feeling more and more alien to me.

I hope POI inspires me to write, too. I'd like to get back to it. I wrote a million words of Harry Potter fiction in the years I was there. I'd like to do that again.

You've been busy. I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept of you doing triathlons and I think I can do it. Yup. I can so see you pulling that off.
Woo hoo!!! We have a fandom in common again. I guess it was inevitable but I do adore PoI. Finchy-poo and Mister Reese are quite the pair. Oh and it would be so wonderful if you started writing PoI fic because there is definitely not enough of it out there, and even sadder is that there's even less slash.
We need to talk PoI, soon!

How have you been? As you say, I've been busy. But less so than some years.
It seems I'm sharing this fandom with many other people. I had no idea that it was so popular. I don't know if I'll write anything. I am at least thinking about it. But as you know, if I don't hear them talking I can't write down what they say. :-)
