Honoring our veterens!

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN!
Your service is so appreciated. As I heard someone say today, "Our service men and women are the greatest peace keepers in the world."

And a special thank you to Miss Devil Dog and her Mr. Devil Dog.

The song is perfect for today! I didn't realize the history behind Veterans Day. How neat that it was the 11th hour of the 11th day that the Armistice was signed. Is that not a sign that God was in it or what?

I love that song! I even purchased it to put on my mp3 player. And I love how celebratory and joyful it is in regards to those serving in our military. They do so much for us and I worry sometimes that they aren’t properly appreciated by Americans, in general. So, anytime I can say, “Thank you!”, I take it! :D

I didn’t know the history either. I found it informative and fascinating and thought something very similar to your thoughts. For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory…forever! And thank God for that as we just seem to muck things up.

Truly my pleasure sweetie! You deserve it! And I can't wait for your Mr. Blue-eyes to come home to you too. In the meantime, tell him I say, "Thank you" again, and again.

Thanks for that bit of history - I actually did not know that and I certainly should have. It is still celebrated as Armistice Day in Scotland and Remembrance Day in Canada/UK/ Australia.

You are certainly welcome. Isn't the internet a wonderful thing! LOL! How wonderful to be able do a little "surfing" and then to catch and ride a wave of valuable information. I think it's the kind of thing that every American should know or, at least, be told; however, it's the kind of information that seems to be neglected in our schools today.

Thanks for the history. I was just reading an email that was sent reminding us that only two people have died for us. One is Jesus Christ who died for our souls and the other our precious service men who died for our freedom. And they certainly need to be remembered, and God bless the unknown soldier's and their precious families.
What a wonderful thing to post to remind us what Veterans Day stands for. Incredible history lesson what our soldiers have done for us and what our country is all about, OUR FREEDOM which was paid with a very dear price, their precious young lives.

Well, hello Mrs. Tea-at-Tiffanie! Will blunders never cease?! You actually posted...five times! Wow!

I thought it was an interesting bit of history too. I'm glad that you found it illuminating. And, I too, believe that the price that our veterans pay is too costly to not give them the honor and acknowledgment that is their due.

I love you too. I miss you. I'm still tired from being ill and am looking forward to resting this weekend. My dear husband gave me the sweetest card and poem for our anniversary and bought me the Anne of Green Gables DVDs. :D
