The term refers to the practice of singing to trees in apple orchards in cider-producing regions of England to promote a good harvest for the coming year.
Hmm...I never knew that before until now. :D
Well, I've always known that Santa doesn't really exist (nor fairies), but I like to pretend that they do. The world would be a lot better if more people believed that all good things are possible, so as long as they were good and caused harm to no one. With so much negativity out there, it's really hard to have that 'christmas spirit' all the time sometimes. I could easily tell a little girl that there is no Santa and crush her imagination forever or I could tell her that he does exist until she can grow up and find out for herself that it's all in one's mind and the Santa that we believe in is all in ourselves.
Well that settles it! If G.K. believed in Santa then I most definitely do too! :D
I must say, I think that is my new favorite quote. Thanks Augustine. How's your job search going? I haven't been around much lately, but I did read your post the other day regarding your prayer request. I keep trying to find the time to sit down and comment since I have been reading many of your posts. I always enjoy what you contribute. :-)

As for the job search, I *think* I have some good news there, which I may share later tonight on my LJ. Thank-you for your concern.
Anyway, hope you have a good night!
God bless!
