Pretty sure it was a lack of salt and other electrolytes - I was drinking lots, but not replacing the electrolytes I was losing in my sweat as well as the fluids. I added some salt to my water bottle and have been eating salty foods (after googling 'marathon recovery') and my headache is mostly gone.
Still dead tired though - but, ironically, couldn't get to sleep cos it wasn't bedtime! I'm going fairly shortly though!
Hearty congratulations! You're probably right about the electrolytes. And the weight gain is probably the result of drinking so much - water is *heavy*, as I find to my cost when flower arranging.
