[Yep, that sure is a person down on the beach, looking all washed-up and in need of assistance. Souji jogs on down, ready to help.]

Hello? Are you OK?

[Oh hello Souji. Please give him a minute while he finally manages to flip himself over...before covering his face at the sun. Ow.

He does nod at the question, but he doesn't look okay at all.]

Are you sure?

[Yeah, not buying it.]

Can I help you?

[Well, hold on. The man attempts to sit up, then finally opens his eyes and looks around, starting at the ocean that he apparently just came from.

He's not ignoring Souji, though, because he stares at the teenager after spacing off for a bit. But he's not talking...]

[Oh boy.]

Are you injured?

[That's...actually, that's a good question. He starts checking himself and feeling his person for any injuries before finally shaking head. No, no injuries that he can find.

Though the fact that he can now feel his ribs easily is...unsettling. Plus he starts shivering, as if just noticing how cold out here it is.]

[This guy seems to be cold ... well, he's underclothed, at least. Souji shrugs out of his jacket and holds it out to the other man in offering.]

Are you able to speak, sir?

[He stares at it before taking it and putting it on immediately, smiling a bit. Thank you.

And at the question he just...shakes his head. Nope. Can't talk.]

Ah. [A brief flicker of understanding crosses Souji's face, and he nods.] I see. I'm sorry.

[He offers his hand next.] Can I help you up?

[Oh, yes of course! Thank you again. He'll gladly take it and try to hoist himself up, finally standing at...roughly the same height as Souji, actually.

His gaze goes back to the ocean again.]

[Souji also looks out at the ocean, but he doesn't see anything out of the ordinary.]

[Don't mind Armaros, he's just trying to gauge how he got here.

For some reason, though, none of the terrain looks very familiar to him, so he turns to look at the city behind them, then back to Souji, wrapping the jacket tighter around him.

And looking a bit frightened.]

[Souji picks up on the expression, and he can guess what it means. He remembers the fear and confusion he felt on first finding himself in this city.]

You're not from here, are you?

Hnnn. [He shakes his head. But the worst part of it is, if this were any other situation, he could at least guess where he is and then go from there. This place is throwing him off...]

It's all right. Most of us aren't. [Souji does his best reassuring smile.] The city's called Meridian. What we've been told is that we're here ... because the city wants us here, as weird as that sounds.

[Really.

He raises an eyebrow at Souji because normal cities don't want things because they're not people and Souji shouldn't be listening to such blatant lies, but then, this is assuming that this city is normal in the first place.

He has heard of stranger things, though, so he then shrugs and decides to give Souji the benefit of the doubt.]
