Who: Joker, Asato When: After nightfall Where: Old gas station far from the city Rating: R Summary: Asato is a naive boy who trusts a guy with a knife and a Joker card not to do crazy things
Asato had used the map on the card to find the gas station. Pupils wide to let in maximum light, he stepped inside. The darkness didn't put him at unease, but something else did; just a feeling or a premonition that something bad would happen. He'd brought his sword, his only weapon, to protect himself should things really go amiss.
"Welcome!" Joker called from the darkness, flicking on the lights to the store. It was easier to see for him if the lights were on, plus he could make sure he wasn't being attacked. "Whoa. What's with the giant sword thing?"
He hissed and brought a hand up to his eyes, startled by the sudden surge of bright light. This kind of light after nightfall--it couldn't be natural.
Gripping the leather strap that kept the scabbard of his sword on his torso, he adjusted it a bit, securing the heavy weapon to his person. He's not making any moves that suggest he wants to draw it, though. Not yet.
"Right. Well, let's get down to business. You're here because you want food."
Joker took another bite of the beans with his fingers. It didn't taste like beans at all, but he was having a good time eating through everything and figuring out all of the tastes. He doesn't bother to record them; he enjoys the randomness of it.
Joker was still waiting around for him the next night. Things were coming along quite nicely with his plans; he just had to keep trying to enact them the best he could. It wasn't easy when he didn't have all the lankies, so he'd been trying to delegate a little bit. Asato going out and spreading the cards would help a bit, but he needed to delegate even more if he ever wanted to get it done.
Fortunately for Asato, Joker realized he couldn't rely on him too much so he probably wouldn't ask him to help again.
Asato had dispersed the cards like he was asked, alternating between putting them in conspicuous places and just chucking them at people before running off. He wasn't too good at just handing them out, but at least he'd gotten the deck out to the general public, and he wanted to make sure Joker knew he'd done his job. A task had to be seen through to completion.
He entered the gas station once more. "I've done what you asked," he announced.
"Great. Just... Take your second half." Joker was writing something down, seemingly preoccupied. But every so often, his eyes darted up to glance at the other, examining him.

"I wouldn't go anywhere without this."
