He wasn't even sure why he decided to stake out at some broken down old place, really he had originally just followed the two crowbros there and decided to hang out for a few days. And after a while with the birds, part of him is pretty damn sure they're Russian. That thought alone is enough for him to realize that it might be about time he starts talking to normal people more and lay off the feathery assholes for a while.
So when he heard the movement from downstairs he waited for a while, seeing if whoever it was planned to just snoop around a bit and bail or if there was some other reason. Because really, who else would come to a place like this? When he goes down to investigate though, somehow he's not surprised at who he finds.
Dave was currently lying on the bed, fiddling with a radio that didn't seem to get any signal. He hadn't figured that TV wouldn't work, so now he was just stuck with himself, trying to keep himself occupied. It seemed like all technology was completely defunct. He was getting anxious because of the lack of technology. Only now did he realize how much his life had revolved around technology before.
"Sup. You followed me here?"
Dave wasn't startled to see him either. After all, he is one of his favorite people, if not his favorite person. He was a bird for sore eyes, as egotistical as that was.
He couldn't quite bring himself to say that if things worked normally around here he should technically be like in Jade's pocket or something, but he's not sure if this coolkid is ready for serious shit like that. He's just glad Dave didn't have to see him the way Jack left him. This place was good for that at least, free magical medical treatment and all that.
"This place pulls us from different points in the timeline. So what's the last you remember?"
That was literally the last thing he had remembered. At first, he thought this was part of the weird dream sequence. He's still not completely sure that it's not. He's confused about what's real and what's not, that much was to be expected. Even though it wasn't written on his face, he was almost sure that his sprite self could tell what he was thinking, or at least his mood.
