[Harry has good ideas sometimes, really! He can also think on his feet and the like and yeah, he's pretty awesome at this common sense thing. But this has to be the fifth time this week he's tried to break the barrier in the sky with spells not meant for breaking barriers. It's not his direct thought process, but typically when he goes out flying ( Read more... )

[Daria's headed back to the library where she's been staying with her own lunch in tow when she passes Harry. It's been a while since she's seen another person, and for some reason, she can't resist making a sarcastic quip as they cross each others' paths.]

Nice broom. Let me guess, you're with the local chimney sweeper's union.

[Harry stops and glances down at his broom before furrowing his brows at Daria.]

Not exactly, but thanks?

[Aaand that's an interesting response. People don't usually thank her for insulting them - unless they're Kevin. So she stops to size up this kid and his glasses.]

You're thanking me for my razor-sharp wit, no doubt.

[ Alice is.. well, pretty much just staring at he lowers his broom with magic, apparently not even fazed by the weird sight. She's seen weird stuff all the time, this much is nothing. Not that it doesn't make her curious, though, and so she just keeps staring at the display. ]

[Oh god, his face is lighting up reeed red red. A girl's seen him now, ugh. He, of course, assumes that she must thing he's the strangest thing to ever...well, float down from a high altitude hanging onto a magic broom for dear life? Sounds about embarrassingly right.]

[His feet finally meet the ground and he's quick to bring down his broom, still holding it with both hands.]

Er...hi?

Good day.

[ No, she still seems utterly unfazed, even with the curiosity there. She folders her arms across each other. ]

I've never seen anyone fly on a broomstick before. It seems quite interesting.

[Landing! He clutches his broom tight, slightly wary of this troll.]

It's my racing broom. I was practicing.

[And trying to channel his frustration into breaking something.]

East! Also sorry for the relative textwall. These things run away on me sometimes. warriorscribe December 7 2011, 20:53:50 UTC
*Enoch is walking in the opposite direction with lunch for himself and Armaros.

He hears Harry's footsteps coming from around the corner, but in the wary, instinctive threat-assessment mode cultivated by three hundred years of trying to evade Azazel's detection, he misjudges the distance of the approaching person from the wall. Instead of stepping around the corner and walking slowly past Harry, he steps out and nearly collides with him. Thankfully, he may have avoided knocking them both off-balance through his quick reflexes - he doesn't hesitate to reach out to steady the boy.*

Excuse me.

WOAH!

[Harry's immediate response is verbal rather than "oh snap gotta move," and he'll gladly blame the slight falter on how full he is from lunch. But thanks to the man's own quick reflexes, he doesn't fall over. His hand is at his wand, but he hasn't pulled it out from where he's keeping it in his robes. Oh. This guy seems alright.]

Sorry, wasn't watching where I was going.

[He was spacing out, anyway, so even if it wasn't his fault the apology still feels necessary.]

*Enoch is certainly not an unsavory character. He is dressed in some rather odd armor, though, likely as strange to Harry as Harry's robes and choice of a broom as something to carry are to him.*

I heard you coming when I was near the corner; I should have been more careful.

*He steps back to a respectful distance, ready to continue on his way unless Harry has something else to say or is openly staring at his armor or something of that nature.*
