bill gate$ is the most evil, vile creature on earth and all versions of windows are total rubbish.

toshiba laptops are the absolute worst, i'd never have another one!
nothing toshiba is any good. i've had lots of experience with their cheaply made junk camcorders, answering machines, and laptops.
they should have stuck to making rice cookers.

did you know that buying a dell laptop without vista installed will cost you MORE than buying one with vista preinstalled?
just one more way bill gate$ is unfairly controlling everything with his evil monopoly.

People buy Toshiba because they have a built in Satellite!

No, but seriously. I have no problems with Windows XP, but I'm a little more knowledgeable than the average user.

Keep XP updated, run an up-to-date firewall and anti-virus, and use some common sense to make your Windows experience a better one.

It sounds like you've done all of these but still prefer a Unix based operating system, which is fine. A lot of people do.

MacBooks are great pieces of computing equipment. I'm just a PC guy myself.
