I'd been watching to see if another froggie or two would move into our little duckwood-covered pond in the backyard (I'd been missing them, truth be told), and Rog spotted one a couple of days ago--so hopefully we'll get to hear their Tibetan froggie chant as the nights get longer.

We usually have peepers clinging to the side of the house by this time, but I only saw one several weeks ago and none since. On the other hand, I've seen several toads in both our gardens. I expect that's because it's too dry for the poor peepers. We really need rain badly.
