iamjanjan is here painting a mural on the nursery wall. It has a jungle theme. cmuckle and I spent time earlier naming some of the animals. Definitely make sure they are trained in infant CPR!

I recently got asked if I have a different rate for daytime than for night time. I didn't have one set up initially, but the family asked so nicely that I was willing to give them a slightly cheaper rate for day time babysitting. (I know rates are probably cheaper up state, but I generally charge $15 and hour, with a daytime rate of $12-13 an hour).

Make sure they know how to serve breastmilk, or are comfortable storing/serving breastmilk if you plan on breastfeeding.

Lambert, the sheepish lion, like from the old Disney short? That's one of my favorites... can't wait to see the mural when it's all done. Iamjanjan does beautiful work!

As for childcare, you may want them to be NAEYC accedited - National Association for the Education of Young Children. Be sure to ask about ratios of children to adults - it will vary among the age groups (infants have lower ratios than preschoolers, for example). Of course, those will more depend on if you choose center-based versus at-home care.
