Congrats on the new apartment and drivers license! But I know what you mean about the weirdness of living alone, especially when you're used to a full house. Even when I'm alone in my room at home, it's still comforting to hear the voices of other people in the house.. that's something I really missed. In Richmond, that horrible horrible place, my downstairs neighbor was in a band and used to play music (their own or on the stereo) ALL THE TIME. At night when I was trying to sleep it would be annoying, listening to he/she practicing their bass to a track, but when they moved out next semester it was even more lonely. I missed it! It was like that constant music was my invisible roommate ( ... )

Forgot to add, part of the reason why I got attached to my musician neighbor was because I could imagine he/she all alone, too, so it was like we were alone together. I really missed my neighbor that I never saw!

I know what you mean...when I walk down the hall in my apartment building, I wonder if there's someone there, somewhere behind one of those doors, someone alone like me.
