I'm guessing that you might have a pinch or a pull somewhere in your neck. Sometimes, that can cause pain that goes up and over one side of your head. Have you tried taking anything for it? Excedrin has always worked best for me, but it does have caffeine in it.
Oh good thought Bunnie! I have had some stress but it could be I tweaked myself. If it keeps up, the chiropractor may very well be who I call next!
I'm improving somewhat today, though I did also take Ibuprofin, so that could be why. I do try to avoid the caffeine though, makes my heart race and I can't sleep so I'll do Excedrin as a last resort if it comes back. It's sort of very pushed back and milder today.
I'd agree with Bunniewabbit that you probably don't have a migraine - those usually have symptoms of nausea and/or sight problems (temporary loss of, or flashes of colour).
I too rarely get headaches, but I have had pain like you mention. The few times it's happened, a nap has diminished it, and a full night's sleep has cured it - apart from one time when it was still there in the morning. However it disappeared during the following day. So no, not some strange brain problem!
Like Bunnie - I don't know what to reccommend drug wise, as most things involve caffeine, and I dono't know if there are other things that you can't take.
No flashes of color, no nausea thank goodness! I felt better this morning, though it was still there, though stamped down quite a lot. I took ibuprofin and that helped, I'm hoping it fades and I forget about it, I don't usually get headaches so that's why I was asking. :) *HUGS*
Typically migraines (from what I've experienced and talked about with my doc for headaches -- your mileage may vary) come with light sensitivity/flashes and more nausea, I think. I can definitely tell when I've got a migraine because I feel like death death death when I'd got 'em -- nausea, want total darkness, and they typically last for a day or so for me.
For headaches and migraines, I generally use the following routine to try and be rid of the paid: -Peppermint oil (you can get this any number of ways, including little roll-on bottles made for headache sufferers, I got one at Whole Foods; Badger Headache Soother 1oz tin 1 oz (28 g)
( ... )
Ohh thank you! I don't think it's a migraine, I mean, I know a number of people locally that have to absolutely banish themselves into dark corners for days on end and I'm definitely able to function just fine. My eyes sort of feel weary tonight, but that's the extent of it. Today has improved, though I have taken ibuprofin and the throbbing has been limited, so thus far I don't think it qualifies.
BUT I am really happy to see you have some suggestions, may actually look for the Badger stuff since we do have a Whole Foods close enough by, even if that place always smells like fish for some reason. And yes...we do have lotsa crunchy granola places, they increase in number the closer you get to Boulder.;)
I wonder if Ginger in a salad dressing would work, we have a lovely Japanese place that includes ginger and a ginger dressing...might give me an excuse to go there. ;)
And hot showers are my favorite, headache or no. *hugs* Thanks!
