that's insane. and i agree with you entirely on japan's whaling policy. it's insulting to the global community to try and pretend there is any scientific value to it. it's a bald-faced lie. >_> and taking prisoners???? ~_~

one can only hope that this will seriously undermine their ability to defend their whalers. it's disgusting.

*nods* It's common knowledge that most of the meat goes to the market. Anyway, new methods have been developed that mean you don't have to kill the whales to find their age which was one reason for their hunt. I'd like to see actual reports about their findings. Pity about the language barrier.

Protests have been held in New York and London, so I imagine Japan is under some strain. I find it strange that the Japanese govt say they have spoken to the whaling ship to release the men and the whaling ship hasn't. What? *shakes head*

According to klingonpoo they're been released, so good ending at least. Proper ending really. There's still the aftermath however.

The old one was too, or least submitted to public opinion and did fight against more whaling.

*nods* I live along the east coast of Australia and every year whales go up and down the coast. So yeah, I'm not pleased that Japan acts as if people don't know what they're actually doing...

Good.
