"I only have a short amount of time before I have to report to Dekim," Dorothy muttered, leaning in close to Quatre's cell.
"I was just arrested for the 'murder' of Treize! What the hell is happening, Dorothy?" Quatre demanded loudly, gripping the bars of the cells.
"Calm down," Dorothy snapped, lips white, "I only found out about this minutes before I was sent to arrest you. Dekim may not trust me anymore. Or maybe he just doesn't trust anyone."
"What's happening then? I hadn't spoke to Treize for days before he died!" Quatre said. "We had last parted on good terms, for god's sake."
"Yes, yes, I know that," Dorothy said, "I remember the lunch. I was there as well. The information that Dekim must have given to the police must be fabricated. But it will hold up in court. Dekim's to canny as much of a mad fool that he is," Dorothy said. "You must find out the real circumstances of Treize's death!"
"That's going to be a bit hard behind bars," Quatre said, letting go of the bars and sighing.
"I know. But you have friends outside, right? Including a mayoral candidate?" Dorothy asked, tapping her chin thoughtfully.
"Oh no," Quatre said, eyes widening, "It was at her campaign launch! I probably ruined her chances of ever becoming mayor!"
"Probably," Dorothy agreed. "Unless you - we manage to find out the real cause of Treize's death. It's rather good motivator, no? Relena is tied to you because of the very public arrest - no doubt planned by Dekim - but if I get you freed and all in her name. It could just be the thing to get her elected!
"Scheming again?" Quatre questioned, rubbing his head wearily.
"You enjoy it as much as I do," Dorothy said. "Now, be a good boy in your cell while I give a press conference."

"Did you see the news?" Heero asked, deep shadows beneath his eyes. Heero had first the news on the radio and had driven to Quatre's mansion in a manner which would probably result in several speeding tickets to get there as quickly as possible.
Trowa looked up from the television. "I'm watching it. For about the third time. Quatre really looked shocked when Dorothy arrested him. Relena handled the situation rather well considering."
"You're not doing anything?" Heero said incredulously. "Your boyfriend - lover, I don't know! Just got arrested for the murder ofTreize and you're just sitting here watching it on the TV?"
"There's not much I can do," Trowa murmured. "Politics, manipulation, that was never what I wanted. It was forced on by Dekim Barton. I broke free of him to stop all that nonsense."
"But - " Heero exclaimed, looking confused. "Now - "
"Doesn't change a thing," Trowa said firmly. "Quatre will know that I support him in my own way. I called Noin and Zechs."
"Treize's lackeys?" Heero muttered, walking over to the lounge and sitting tiredly on it next to Trowa.
"They are the best - non corrupt, not in the pay of Dekim, people who don't make Quatre's skin creep - lawyers in town," Trowa pointed out. "And Zechs would kill you if you said that it front of him."
"Like to see him try," Heero smirked. "Why would they want to be Quatre's defence, anyway? They were close allies of Treize."
"Yes," Trowa said, "Which is why this is the best way to get to Treize's real killers. Quatre didn't kill Treize, they're smart enough to realise that."
Heero shrugged noncommittally. "Noin maybe."
"Finding Quatre's innocence could lead to the real killer," Trowa said. "And most importantly, getting Quatre freed."
