How wrong is this?

I'm reading Alias fanfiction. To be precise, I'm reading redrover1980's Complicity, and I'm TOTALLY HOOKED.

I don't know Alias. Have never watched it.

Yet, I'm completely addicted.

I am now a Sydney/Sark shipper, without ever having watched the show.

Is this wrong or what?

Sarkney!

Start watching the DVDs. Seasons 1 and 2 in particular are mind-blowing.

I think I may have to start watching the show... it's just not right to read fanfiction without ever having seen a single episode! ;-)

The same kind of thing happened to me--redrover1980 was talking up Alias so much, and writing such unbelievable fic, that I had to start watching Alias. Complicity is just so fabulous that watching the show is almost irrelevant. :-)

It is fabulous, isn't it!

I used to love redrover's Buffy fic but had never read any of the Alias fiction because, well, I thought I would have to know the show... Little did I know that it's perfectly possible to become addicted to fanfic AND to become a shipper of a show you've never seen! ;-)

See, it's the opposite for me. I *love* redrover1980's writing, and I actually *do* watch Alias, but much as I love Sark, I can't do Sarkney fic. Not that I'm opposed to the pairing, I'm just enough of a canon whore that I sort of need to feel it there before I can do fic and there's just not enough of a connection between them for me. Although there could've been someday had J.J. not wussed out and gotten rid of the character.

I guess since I've never watched Alias I just don't know if I'd ever have considered the pairing on account of what you get on the show. Right now, redrover1980s fic is the only canon I have! ;-)

Of course I should really go and watch some Alias now - it's just not right to read fanfic for a show without knowing said show at all...
