!!! I'm so excited! I've been hoping a project like this would come along. Transcription takes me far too long for the amount of output I manage, but I'd be so happy to be able to help out as a transcript beta. XD

I believe there are already places for that sort of thing on LJ, we may just link transcribers there if needed. I'll have to do some research on the topic.

Thank you for the suggestion!

*EPIC FLAIL*

This is fantastic, and I am more than stoked to contribute. I transcribe episodes and video diaries/specials all the time because of picspams I make on tumblr, so doing it and having it archived is just genius.

AWESOME IDEA IS AWESOME!

Also, we don't have to start from scratch. Check out the script from one of the episodes:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/insight/downloads/scripts/merlin_s1e9.pdf

BBC has a writers room found here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/insight/script_archive.shtml

But that was the only one they have listed.

Also, there are programs that turn pdf files into word files (but they're hard to find and usually aren't free). I used one such program as a free 30 day trial. We could switch off with whoever's turn it is and just have a 30 day time limit for transcripting. Or, just get all the .pdfs converted and save the word files.

There are also subtitles available online which I will link transcribers to. They aren't perfect of course but both the subtitles and the script should make things a bit easier for episode transcribers. Which is great!

Thank you for the links. :)
