I don't know if anyone else has smallish children in the house, or babysits, or whatever, but have you seen the commercials on Disney Channel for what is basically an Arthurian legend high school!AU/reincarnation fic

It's based on Meg Cabot's book Avalon High. That was actually one of the first books that got me interested in Arthurian legend. I'll have to find the movie on the internet somehow; I'm curious as to how the movie comes out.
Just finished watching it. Given that Avalon High is probably one of my favorite teen books of all time, the book purist in me started twitching something fierce, especially in the last half-hour of it.
Still, over all, it wasn't too bad. Over the top, yeah. Cheesy, yeah. But then, that's Disney for you. It was kind of adorable.
I think I adored Miles, the Merlin character. He had me cracking up every few minutes.
Of course, given the complex tangle the script writers made of the relationships, one could really make a case for slash in the previous lives of the characters. Which just proves that my brain is weird. ;)
Your brain isn't weird. I was thinking the same thing. Avalon High was also one of the books that got me into arthurian legend so I was excited to see the movie although I had a feeling Disney was going to do something wrong. But whenever I watch a movie based on a book, I really try to detach myself from the book and see the movie as a separate entity. So since I compared it to the other DCOMS and not the book. I found the movie to be charming and a cute gateway movie into the legend.

Ellie is actually the Lady of the Lake, so no A/M. ;-) It's a cute story, but I'm betting Disney destroyed the charming aspects of it.
(OT: Is it just me that the spoiler codes are no longer working for in comments?)
