Firstly, many many thanks for all the kind replies to my last post. I'm sorry I didn't respond, stuff has just been too, hmm, busy/yeukky, but your thoughts really are appreciated.

In a nutshell, the news about mother isn't good, and I've put it behind this tag as I know it might be trigger-y for a couple of people on my friends list
