Impressions on Return

It seems like every writer who travels abroad has a few choice words to say about his or her home country upon returning to it and seeing it, as it were, with new eyes (or, at least, with eyes that have been looking at something ELSE for an extended period of time). It's similar, though not quite to the extreme that Korea is, in England. Or at least the parts I've been to (Yorkshire area, even in places like Manchester, Leeds, or Wakefield). The variety in the supermarket is greatly reduced, particularly in some of the things we take for granted here. (For example, you'd be hard pressed to find Tortillas at all in most super markets). As for space, it's hit or miss. In a most of the towns, it's the same as korea, but you do find a lot of places that are fairly large and open, too.

Course, I couldn't even find decent cold cuts in the midwest. I guess I'm spoiled in New York.

Fun post, yours are always the best essays to read. My wedding gift got returned to me for not shipping it correctly (The hell, I used a stamp) so I want to bring it to the UPS store back home to get it out there soon.
