I love that they based the filming in Cardiff, as the nearby locations have had such a wonderful effect on the show. But the logistics of coping with Welsh or Gloucestershire rain and mud must have been ghastly. I keep thinking of all that camera gear which must remain pristine... In no way can I remain pristine myself when I visit Puzzlewood!
Absolutely! It is a stunning place, and even all these years later I am still stunned by how much creativity it prompts - not just in the show's cinematography, but in the fans' photos. Just when I think we've mined it for all it can give, someone comes up with something more! I'm so glad they chose Pierrefonds. ♥
Yes, it can be both intriguing and amusing to solve the puzzle of what belongs where in reality and in Camelot... I so love that they chose to film there!
Given my complete inability not to become mud-spattered whenever I visit Puzzlewood, I really don't know how they do it!
And gosh, Colin did all that tumbling... The man is dedicated to his craft, that's for sure. There were times when Merlin was lying there suffering that I was wishing Colin wasn't such a great actor, I have to say! :-)

I guess if they were to spend money going to Pierrefonds they better get their moneys worth and use the location wisely.
