The Tempest revisited

May 08, 2013 21:40

Just a brief post... having caught the matinee of The Tempest today with a couple of excellent friends, and then the Q+A afterwards... which was graciously attended by the lovely Jessie Buckley (Miranda) and Roger Allam (Prospero). ♥

This post includes spoilers for the production and for Colin's role in it.

Such a shame! I missed you! :( I was there today, I haven't seen the matinee but I caught up with some friends afterwards who saw it. One of them has to leave tomorrow morning, so we waited for Colin at the stage door, and therefore I missed the Q&A as well... damn!

Sadly, Colin left secretly, because he somehow hurt his back and got treated for it. A guy from the Globe or ensemble told us about it. I really hope he'll be fine again tomorrow, because then it's my turn to finally see the play.

I'm glad you had a great time with Roger and Jessie, it sounds lovely! And thanks so much for the report, so at least I've got an idea of what was going on. ;)

He didn't disappoint, he was absolutely fine yesterday! *phew* ;) Of course, I can't tell if there was any downplay, but it didn't seem that way.
It was a brilliant play, and I can't to see it again in July. ;)

Thank you, hon! When I started typing, my mind was blank, but bits came back to me as I went... I'm sure I haven't even mentioned some of it, though! :-)

I was at the matinee yesterday but didn't have tickets for the Q&A. Thanks for remembering so much about it as I'm a huge fan of Roger Allam now and was very impressed with Jessie Buckley.

It was very interesting indeed, and ably led by someone from the Globe. I'm sure you'll enjoy your Q+A no matter whose turn it is to front up! :-)
