Well to round off an awesome weekend - an awesome knightly week! - I was lucky enough to see Alex Vlahos as Malcolm in Macbeth today. I've posted about it to the website here. The whole thing was wonderful, and Alex certainly belonged there in the mud amidst this stellar company ( Read more... )

I'm much the same, though I do like him very much. Bit of a chameleon, our Alex, I think, which isn't such a bad thing. There's a couple of photos of him with a quiff on IMDB that are very fanciable - but along with those, this is the swooniest I've seen him... so far! ;-)

How were you able to get tickets? I tried and they were already sold out when they announced Alex would be in the cast.

I see great things ahead for Alex. He's a subtle and strong actor.

The friend I went with is a Branagh fan, so we originally tried for his sake. Missed out. But then the tickets for today - a final 'gala' performance - went on sale much later on. Again, very quickly sold out, but I got lucky this time.

I agree with you about Alex. I honestly do think you'll be seeing him on stage on your side of the pond, some time in the future! He's going to do very well for himself. :-)

Oh wow, the show sounded AWESOME!! I didn't know Alex was in it, but I'm sure he killed it.

It really was something! A real event, if you know what I mean. And Alex certainly belonged there. I loved him! :-D

I'm glad you enjoyed the review! You've certainly picked a winner here in Alex. I suspect he'll have a very long and wide-ranging career. And such a lovely bloke, too!

And Kenneth Branagh, OMG. How strange it already seems, that he was only about five feet away from me this very afternoon, acting his big old heart out...

I think I shall have awesome dreams tonight... :-)

Thanks for the great report and a rather swoony photo if Alex!
I was so hoping to read something other than newspaper reviews.

Not only did you have Kenneth in front of you, but River Song herself!

I agree, there are great things ahead for this guy, such a pity he was underutilised in series 5

I'm glad you liked the report, and indeed the photo of Alex in full Swoon-inducing Mode! :-)

I did indeed love seeing Alex Kingston in action, having long been a fan of hers as well. It was really quite an embarrassment of riches, this production!

I hope you'll get to see our own Alex on stage at some point during what will no doubt be a long and happy career. ♥
