Loved the picspam. My favorite was Alice giving directions! What a great candid of hers.

Thank you so much, hon! I'm glad you like that photo... It was a particularly lucky one, with the guards in the background! :-)

Gorgeous picspam. That "Christmas of Woe" photo is sad but brilliant.

I like to suppose that he was heading towards Arthur and the story was just about to begin all over again...

I've now adopted that as my head canon ♥♥♥

It's what definitely *should* be happening so I'm prepared to believe it *is* happening :)

LOL, you guys! I do love you. ♥

See, here's the thing. We know they always had that last shot in mind right from the beginning. They started and they ended with Merlin walking along a road alone, belongings in a bag over his shoulder. There is the contrast between youth and age, energy and tiredness, but that is all about the drama and even the dramatic irony.

When I think about this with my writerly hat on, then it seems so clear to me that he's heading for the same destination. Not Camelot per se, but Arthur and their shared destiny. There is a great deal of happiness in his immediate future, I am sure of it.
