A couple of days ago I watched "Cloverfield." HATED it. If the camera movement wasn't so jerky, I might have thought it was OK. Now they are talking about making a sequel? Don't even bother

it's been a while since I saw orphanage, but from what i remember... the mom in the family, was the girl that got pulled away in the first scene of the movie. and the kids terrorizing her son were her friends from growing up.
i think she saw something, or didn't report something that lead to them being out in the water when they all died, and the end was her rejoining her friends.
I just put The DEvil's Backbone in the queue. The ending was of her actually dying herself from the medication she took to come close to death for finding her son. And yes, she did rejoin her other orphaned friends that were still kids, but she was an adult, their caretaker now. I think the movie would have been better off to end when her husband went to the memorial site + laid down the flowers. But it ended with him going back into the house, finding the medallion he gave her + looking toward a french door that slowly opened. Now was that suppose to mean that he himself was close to death + that's why he saw, speculation of mine, his wife + son + that's why he smiled? That would make most sense from what the movie was build on (seeing ghosts because you are close to death). It obviously wasn't anything horrific or otherwise he would not have smiled. I can't think of any other plausible way that would make more sense

Cloverfield was awesome on the Gigantic Screen at the movies. The destruction scenes looked cool. I doubt it would transfer well to regular TV though, it really was meant to be scene "bigger than life". I believe. Then again I am a sucker for monster movies as I grew watching and loving everything Godzilla.
The Orphanage was awesome, Devils Backbone was awesome, everything Guillermo Del Toro has done is awesome, I even liked Hellboy II.
See, my problem seems to be that I don't relate well to sci-fi movies + I never really got into the Godzilla thing. While some scenes of the Coverfield movie were interesting + well made, I found the jerkiness of the camera very distracting, even annoying + it upset me that I missed the point of that scene because I couldn't follow it due to the jerky camera movement. I'm also comparing this movie with others that I recently saw which were a lot better (like "28 weeks later." brrr, spooookey!). No, I wouldn't watch Cloverfield a second time.
I liked The Orphanage a lot. Not as much as Pan's + I haven't seen Devil's Backbone, but added in into my queue today.
But what do you think of the ending in The Orphanage? I'm a littlebit at a loss here + my "interpretation" of the ending is not really satisfactory to me.

meh
I like Orphanage, though it wasn't as good as Pans or The Devilsback bone (same director as pan's, watch it if you haven't http://www.amazon.com/Devils-Backbone-Special-Marisa-Paredes/dp/B000274TLW/ )
