BAD POETRY: Eyes wide closed, Now I see

Oct 30, 2009 19:25

If it would snow in mid-July
Or scorch brightly in December
Maybe I would never die
And you’d have a chance to remember

Good times - they were far and few
But with a chance I would create
We would smile and laugh, me and you
And never succumb to this hate

That surrounds us here in reality
Bitter, twisted, ire
Eyes wide closed but now I see
How our anger spread like fire

From the day we met - oh thanks to you cruel lord
Me ruddy faced and tied
You spared me the mercy of a verbal sword
I walked away untried

Only to meet again as I
Unwittingly made you my target
I searched for your wallet on the sly
In the bustle of the market

You caught me dead
And a warped relationship bloomed
We left far too much unsaid
And in our lies we were consumed

But snow never falls in mid-July
And the sun bids farewell in December
Today I lay down to die
And there’s no joy for you to remember.
