Oh wow! Congratulations! Eeeeee, I'm so excited for you! 8D
Are you looking to specialize in any particular way, general small/large animal, avian, etc? Aaa it's just such an awesome fit for you, I'm grinning like a loon. Then again as the child of two vets I have a bit of a soft spot for the profession. :)
Thanks! After animals + medicine = vet school clicked in my head, I decided it was the Best Idea Ever and couldn't figure out how it hadn't occurred to me before. :D
I'm thinking about shelter medicine, which will probably mostly be small animal/exotics (at least the tame definition of "exotics," so pretty much rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets). Tufts doesn't have you choose, though, so we all learn small animal, large animal, exotics, and wildlife. So excited!
Congratulations! That must be a nice early Christmas present. I had no idea you were going to hear from them so soon. When tausbabelfish and I get back up to the Boston area after the holidays, we should definitely do something to celebrate with you.
I didn't think I'd hear from them so soon either! The official thing on their website says that they interview in February, but all the applicants got an email mid-November that revealed that was not quite the full story: they have six interview days, with one in mid-December and then the rest in February.
My interview day was really relaxed-- they pretty much told us not to worry, and that this day was for them to get to know us and us to get to know each other. The Admissions Committee apparently met the afternoon after the interviews and made their decisions then. The letter I got said: "Because of your superb achievements and outstanding promise, this admission decision is an early one; you are among a very small group of applications that Committee voted to admit immediately." (*blush*/*preen*) Fifty people interviewed my day, so I guess we were the select few?

Plus I'll keep an eye out for cool friends that might be looking for a place in August.
