[Admin] New Rule on Contributor Tags

Sep 09, 2009 19:25

Even after overhauling our tagging system, we're still currently running out of tags. We've used 1,083 out of the 1,200 limit. And because of this, we've decided to modify our tagging rules a bit.

New rule (this applies mostly to new posters): From now on, only authors and artists who have made at least five (5) posts in the community will get their own contributor's tag.

In the next few days, we will be removing the tags of those who have only used them once and who have not posted in awhile (from 2008 until May 2009). This way we can free some slots in our tag list. We will not delete tags with more than one use (which means they should still be used by their owners) unless we run out of space again. Heh! [Edit: Well, I'm done with the deletions. We're now down to 765 tags. \o/]

For those affected by the tag deletions and for our new authors and artists, please use the '1st time posting' tag until you've reached the 5 posts requirement. When you have made five entries in the community, you can request your own contributor's tag by commenting on this post. I'll try to keep track of each poster's entries but we would greatly appreciate it if you could also let us know when you've reached the required number of posts.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please leave them as a comment to this post.

Thanks! I hope everyone's having a good day/night! :)
