hiya!! Yes it has been waay too long. I have enjoyed your recent posts tho, and grat on moving back to Irvine, always liked that part of town in OC :) Yes here's to a new year full of possibilities and mischief ;)
Your paintings look good. ^^ I especially like the hair of the subjects, you seem pretty good at giving it a realistic yet blurred effect. The male's hair from the back view was very good, a nice touch

Hiya thx so much for the comments :) Yes Scarlett is quite a challenge as a subject since she has so many unique facial features that make her recognizable. The first attempt was pretty bad and your comments are spot on about them :) I must admit that I got pretty frustrated with scarlett1 and sort of left it unfinished, with the shadows and bg put in but not finessed in anyway; since the main subject was off model lol. However, I still thought it was valuable to post to show a progression. The blurred areas versus the sharp areas I suppose is how I've been painting, starting off with a very soft overall version of tones, then going in and fleshing out the details. Thx for the comment about the male's hair, it needs a bit more spec to match the photographic reference, however, I thought by leaving it as a subtle feature, it would be a nice detail for those eyes who want to look at it in depth
