I shall elaborate. My family are from the country, and amongst themselves speak a bit of Doric. While I never had that much exposure to that (what with being in the centre of Aberdeen), my accent was still a lot stronger than it is now. When I go home people tell me I have a much more neutral accent than I did whe I left :)
