How does your headcanon for your favourite characters vary from story to story? If you multiship your character in some way, how does your headcanon change between ships?

for bsg_epicsI don't have many hard-and-fast head canons--that is, beliefs about characters that do not undergo change. Aside from what's established in canon (and just barely that), I ( Read more... )

I've come to realize that the fandoms I get most invested in are those that I believe neglected their potential most. It's some strange combination of huge devotion/love on my part, mixed with a considerable amount of "YOU COME HERE AND TREAT THIS LIKE A JOKE? WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU. WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU."

LOL, I love that. I think that somehow, canons like that give the most room for exploration, maybe, because they throw out so many ideas but because they don't follow through, they leave all that unexplored space for fandom to play with.

One of my favourite things about fic is that you can recreate the feel of a thing, and get to relive its newness constantly by changing slight details. That is the most wonderful explanation of why I love AU ever. Thank you ( ... )

I can see Kara being book-smart and feeling like she needed to cover it up when she wasn't using it, for family-of-origin reasons ( ... )

Kara's book smarts are something I think maybe it's less that she wants to hide it and more that she doesn't feel the need to advertise. It's just something she is. It shows itself more when she looks at something from her perspective and comes up with a plan that totally doesn't make sense on a rational level, but works. She's more comfortable presenting herself as a seat-of-her-pants thinker. It's not that she wants to appear less book smart, but that she doesn't give a rat's ass whether someone thinks she smart or stupid.

That whole angel/whateverthefuck was just...whatever the fuck.

I tend to write Kara as sexually flexible. Always willing to try something new, even if, perhaps especially if, it's going to make someone else push their own boundaries. She might even do something that makes her uncomfortable if it makes someone else more uncomfortable ( ... )

Amen! Especially on 2 and 3.

I could see Kara as bookish. But sheepish about it, maybe like she's worried it might hurt her rep.

Now I'm picturing Kara and Kendra having nerdy science/math conversations. Much too hot.

I project myself onto Kendra way too much. Since I like nerdy conversations it naturally follows that she does too? Right? That's logical.

Yes!

*Hugs*

(btw I'll have to reply to your comment at some point tomorrow. I have the stupid-early shift.)
