random sights through jelly eyes...

To add on to my current crave for some slightly off-beat photography, and to my collection of plastic toy cameras, I have recently gotten hold of a couple of interesting lenses from grannysnaps to give my random snaps a quirky twist and some special effects...

These are called "Jelly Lenses", and they look like cute mobile phone accessories. But when you ( Read more... )

i still can't find wide angle lens. :(

what i did is i zoom my lens a bit so i would not get the rim of the jelly lens.

I think the Wide Angle lens would be quite popular (cos of the Fish-Eye effect), so maybe out of stock for now?

In my above trial shots, I did try to do two of each scene, one showing the rim of the jelly lens (kinda like a round frame effect, which I don't really mind also), and one with a bit of zoom to cut out the rim. Both also I like wor... LOL

interesting, i would consider getting myself one. the down point is it's blur at the edges... hmmm... and if i have to zoom a little get rid of the yellow rim, that defeat the wide angle purpose right?

I actually didn't mind the rim showing, as in some cases it works as a frame around the main scene. Most fish-eye lenses have that same tunnel effect too.

The blurring effect around the edges also makes the images slightly more interesting, although I do wish the central area could be sharper or more in focus.

I think overall, these little lenses are cheap alternatives to the real deals, so gotta accept and make the most of their limitations. :P

Haha yeah the sparkle effect is quite nice, and kinda makes those images feel a bit Christmas-sy eh? :P
