Last night, as I was exiting the subway station, I saw my neighborly "spanish" man. How weird, I finally posted about him, and I finally see him outside of our regular element. Sweet guy, even offered to give me his umbrella. I, of course, declined. Still, I did not get his name, ask how his holidays were, or any of the things I think about when I ( Read more... )

i could see why you'd rather call it train, it sounds better abbreviated than going to the sub...

one doesnt say i am going to the trainstation unless they are on long island catching the LIR (long island railroad). in the city you would just say im catching a subway/train to "given location", i dont think anyone ever mentions wher they start. if they did yoy would just say the cross street, meet me at 42nd and broadway to catch a train downtown for instance.

I say both. but i am used to it, because of grand central and always coming in on the train. so i see tracks and my brain goes train.

I always say train but only really think about it, when I'm talking to peeps who don't live here.
