It can be something as noteworthy as highly-popular webcomic, or as dumb as the "Leeroy Jenkins" bit on YouTube. A person who gathers a lot of attention and/or a following on the internet, becoming "famous" online while their normal life goes unaffected.
(Unfortunately this tends to go to people's heads. A lot.)
