Vroom, vroom.

I have excised a chapter and a half from the first half of my book. It remains to be seen if I have broken the characterization of two of the secondary characters thusly, but without a doubt, I have solved some pacing issues.

Let this be a lesson to me:
The segment that would not die. Read more. )

Ah, same color appliances. I have a brushed stainless steel fridge, blue stove, and white dishwasher. *sigh*

I find that I don't NEED matchy-matchy--if I get to pick stuff out, that is. At least those don't clash. But the LAST thing I wanted were black and biscuit appliances. I rather liked the looks of the stainless steel oven best when I was hopping, but with 2 other white appliances--? It was kind of a no-brainer.

I did see a teal dryer I kind of coveted. That was pretty.

I learn the strangest things about this area from reading your blog. Does the coffee shop also sell baked goods, or just liquid?

The coffeehouse just does coffee, but there's a Zingerman's bakery in the same line of buildings, and also a Zingerman's creamery.

They had a limited supply of baked goods in the coffee shop proper (I had apricot hamentashen!), but it is right down from Zingerman's Bakehouse--and Zingerman's Creamery. So, baked goods and cheese, all in one easy locale.

Such a sad darling to kill! I see more and more "director's cut"-like excerpts popping up on author web sites, so there's at least one outlet for resurrection. Now that e-books are looking for extra content to be played on multi-media tools like iPads, I wonder if scaffolding will find its way into the "extras." :)

*Sigh* It is a very funny line. Sorta shows you are a true daughter of Pratchett.

But maybe it is best therefore that it is gone. We want people to see the genius of Merrie, un-eclipsed by Terry.
